Getting Ready for Your Drivers Test

So you’re studying for your drivers test and you’re a bit jumpy. Perfectly understandable! This is a big deal, so who on earth wouldn’t be jumpy? There are several things that you can do to get ready however, one of which is to study. The DPS will have a drivers handboook but it is long and they don’t tell you what will be on the test. It may cover the ins and outs of driving and seem simple but you need to pass the written exam. You may know of the answers to many of the questions simply because you have ridden with your parents your entire life but is that enough to pass?

Does the DMV ask if you should stop at a yellow light or do they ask about yellow light rules? Are red light cameras legal? Do you get a ticket if your car is still passing through the intersection when the light turns red?

What about the number of family members in a car if you have a Learners License?

What are the restrictions on Driving Supervisors with a Practice Permit?

So how do you get ready for the drivers test? It’s actually pretty easy. All you really need is a good night’s sleep, preparation and a lot of concentration. If you have these things then there is absolutely no reason that you should not ace your written exam. Buy a learners permit test and see how your fare. They cost less than the gas for a second trip to the DMV. And don’t forget the missed study time and scheduling a ride. You may be able to drive back but someone has to take you there and they may not be too good at keeping it secret that you flunked!

California Department of Motor Vehicles Test is different for First Time Drivers under 18

Teen drivers taking the California DMV permit test might be sorted into two distinct groups: Drivers over 18 who receive a regular drivers license and Drivers under 18 who receive a Instruction Permit.

The written test for each is different. If you are over 18, your driving test is based on the California Drivers Handbook. If you are under 18 your Practice Permit Test is from the California Driver Handbook and the California Parent Teen Training Guide.

The variation is important when you buy a sample test. dmvCramCourses.com provides online permit tests for both written exams. If you are under 18, you want the Learner Permit study guide. If you are over 18-years old, you want the New Driver study guide.
